Do you wonder? Across sultry evenings
in the consolation of your sheets,
alone and warm yet piercingly bare,
that another longs for the same
space between
your skin and the waifs and wafts of your blanket?
Do you worry? That his perplexing gaze
portends no more than the amusement of a man.
Childish and uneventful, appraising
yet uninterested.
A transitory glance that will be forgotten
in the next minute, but will haunt you for days to come.
In stupefaction of an enthralled imagination caught
in the florid kiss of longing.
Desperate for touch.
Delusional for a connection.
Do you comprehend? That
meaning does not equate with motion.
That actions are mere translations of an underlying alacrity,
or lack thereof.
And you are a pawn in the chessboard of your own doing,
shortchanging by solitude, overshadowed by overzealousness.
Because we seek
what we cannot waver, and sought that will falter.
The anarchical machinations of a distressed
freefalling existence. Latent
of capitulations set by our own karmic gestures.
Clandestine caresses of a deceptive delirium,
Distraught. Deranged. Despotic.
A closure creating chaos.
When the stubborn psyche refuses rejection.

Longing only ebbs, doesn't it?
@citybuoy It is only sad if you choose to take the words as they are. There is always a freedom gained from realizing where we failed. And this could be the most positive to come from it.
@anteros' dominion Your welcome sir.
@Manech Yes it does. But it also vacillates.
a single's longing. =)
@engel Could be. Could be not. :)
i have a confession.
was not able to comprehend what i was reading, my mind was transfixed with the image.
forgive me...
;)
@the geek It's ok. I have to admit, the image is mesmerizing. It took me over an hour looking for the perfect image to go with the words, while the words itself just bled out profusely with not so much grace or subtlety.
Sige, let's stare at him some more. :)
A moving wistful write on the paradox of lives lived in 'borrowed' space & time -- always the unending yearning to be....
And these lines are gems to a zeitgeist spotter -- "Because we seek/ What we cannot waver, and sought that will falter..."
@A Fistful Of Moonbeams™ I merely depicted the milieu of the moment, a translation of a predicament I know so well, only because I was there, and for a time being, I was him. To quote Murakami, "we are always in the anticipation of living," for in yearning we envelope discretion, and by hoping, we create purpose.
