RED IS THE NEW BLACK

Avatarrandom rantings and rabid retorts of a socially-retarded, decidedly high-strung, renewed romantic

quotidian quote

Weakness begets Strength.
Betrayal begets Blood.

nice quote but very aggresive and warlike.

i almost forgot that i did watch the movie. what i can remember was i slept through it, most part that is; have seen the first and the last part (almost the closing credits) haha. with all the gore, at it's core it's still for me about sordid brainwashing and children being abused.

i saw this too. di ko lang inexpect na may maganda palang quote. couldn't move past all the blood.

i really hope that we can gain strength from weakness. (pardon my emoness) it seems weakness is all i've ever known.

@Dabo I agree. It is inherently uncompromising to the point of being brashly condescending. Makes sense as the clan is built on blind obedience, and fearful loyalty.

@Colorblind Ay, alam ko kung bakit. Hindi ka kasi naka-focus sa movie nung mga oras na iyon eh hehe.

@Engel Bloody. And frighteningly rational. I watched the movie for two reasons. (1) It was from the masterful hand of Quentin Tarantino. Next to Stanley Kubrick, Tim Burton and Michel Gondry, he's one of those directors with a piquant sense of the imagery; (2) Rain. Need I say more?

@Yj Hehe. Now that's a quote!

@Nyl I have a predisposition towards the gory, macabre and absurd. That is why I gravitated towards this one. I don't get easily overwhelmed with films though. I used to be a student critic, and often catch myself being overtly analytical with what I watch. I sort of enjoy more that way.

@Trey And acknowledging our shortcomings is the first step to overcoming them. I miss the courts. Badly.

i think it tried a little too hard. like quentin on drugs (if he isn't already)

it was nice to see rain's err.. uh.. hard, steamy, sculpted... talent. yeah. talent. haha

@Nyl It did, actually. Overly theatrical in some scenes. But you have to hand it to Tarantino, he is known for the dramatic and graphic. Rain's err... talent was merely masked by his pleadingly distracting accent. Such a pity. That's why I decided not to review it. Plus, reviews are best done by Maxwell Flux. =)
